Mongolian lamb was brilliant. Wonderful service. Quaint dining area but not loud either for carrying a conversation with others. Highly recommend!

I love this place... the food is just amazing. The only thing is that the menu says that some food is spicy but is not. Its just delicious.

I was traveling to San Antonio with a group of 18 people during Christmas break. We made reservation for Christmas day. The restaurant was able to accommodate us. They even sent us the menu ahead of time. The restaurant was easy to find. Staff were friendly and patient. The restaurant was packed with customers during Christmas day. There were plenty of parking space in front of the restaurant. Although the restaurant had basic decor and budget furniture, the price of their dishes were reasonable. They had authentic Chinese dishes. Their food were phenomenal and delectable. This was one of the best Chinese restaurant in San Antonio. All 18 people ranged from 13 to 85 years old loved their food.

5 stars so high, this is my absolute new favorite Chinese (ahem, Sichuan Province) restaurant. Unbelievable. So, so, so, so good! The service was excellent! The wait staff was gracious and kind to explain everything with expert advice and caution on heat levels. Truly appreciated. Thanks for a great first impression!!!

Come with a big group of people because it is family style dining and you will want to try all of it! The crispy spicy & savory chicken is a magical plate of crispy chicken but no breading, and is amazingly juicy! The crispy fish is also tastey. "The Don" pork belly dish is a savory delish plate of bacony goodness and the sweet sauce puts it over the top, highly recommend this dish. Anything at this place is top notch and amazing.

The food is amazing! I suggest Go with a family and order a bunch of different food then share! I'm sure it's fine to go alone but when you see what someone else ordered you will want that to lol

This is THE best Chinese restaurant in town. Try everything on the menu, it's all excellent always-- but dont go here expecting your typical Americanized Chinese food!

There was a small wait but so worth it. Discovered reservations are strongly encouraged . Food was absolutely amazing. Welcomed the server's suggestion and it paid off. Staff was amazingly friendly and atmosphere was inviting. Menu is overwhelming with choices, I will be looking at menu online for my next visit. Can't wait to go back

The wait staff is phenomenal. They really understand the menu and how to keep your beverage topped of. I noticed that the restaurant had in abundance of wait staff and they all helped each other with their tables. The dishes are quite unique in flavor presentation and ingredients. If you are an adventurous eater or someone who spent much time in China you will love it here. It's not a bargain restaurant. The prices are a couple dollars above average but you are getting value for your money, great service, unique ingredients, knowledgeable and friendly staff. I believe you are getting a good value for your money here. The decorations are not fancy and the space is not large. But everything is tasteful and classy I'd be comfortable bringing my friends or family here again.

We found it right after it opened, about 4 years ago, and immediately, we were hooked to their their original dishes. We assume some of the dishes are as authentic as they are going to get outside of China. The service is good. However, they could improve the cleanliness of their facilities and the food presentation.

Delicious food! They have dishes for my adventurous tastes as well as for the taste buds of my children's "tried and true" variety. Service was excellent as well, from greeting to leaving.

Sichuan House has the BEST pork belly I've ever had. They also have handmade wontons to die for. They even have authentic duck that you have to call in a day before for in order to reserve it. I didn't get to try it this time, but I'm going to try it next time. They have plenty of different drinks too, including Thai milk tea. I am so glad my friends and I found this place. The service is absolutely excellent too. Our server had a few other tables but she never forgot to check in with us. Even when she went on break, another lady took care of us for about 10 minutes. Water glasses never went empty, and their portions are very generous. You have to give this place a try!

The best family style dishes combined with a friendly wait staff makes Sichuan House one of the best Chinese restaurants in San Antonio. The spicy tofu and the steamed rice are awesome. Servings are generous and the flavor is savory. This is a cozy place but it has a welcoming vibe. Although we arrived 30 minutes before closing, we never felt rushed. Great spot with delicious vegetarian menu items plus all the traditional Chinese dishes everyone wants. Go soon.

We decided to go here because we wanted to have Sichuan cuisine and we saw the reviews which were pretty good and said, "Let's go". The ambiance is casual and relaxed and our waitress Rose actually took the time to go over the menu and explain in detail how to decipher it which we appreciated. My husband ordered the Mongolian Beef and Sour and Hot soup (There is a reason why it's printed this way on the menu) and I ordered the Wonton soup and General Tso's dish with the spice level turned up. We also ordered a side of Chicken fried rice. The food was good don't get me wrong but the Sour and Hot soup was more Sour than hot thus the reason for the way it's printed on the menu. The Mongolian Beef was really good but the food here is definitely Sichuan Fusion. The food comes out family style so be prepared to have plates everywhere. All in all our meal was good and we ended up making friends with a group of ladies next to our table. Don't miss out here, it's a good value

Food is flavorful and well prepared for having something special yet casual. Yup, be prepared.. its not all dumplings and lemon chicken. I enjoy the variety of menu options. The service is superb. This place has great karma. Worth the trip across town 👍👍

Honestly, one of my favorite places in town. If you want real Chinese food, this is THE place to go. Great for family meals and for when you want something spicy. My favorite dish is probably the fried fish fillets with chilis.

Mediocre food. I was very surprised that it wasn't better because of all the high ratings and high number of reviews. We both got dishes that the waitress recommended and I have to say I've had much better Chinese food at many other places that were lower rated. Perhaps I just was missing something I don't know.

This was our 2nd time here and again we were wowed! We were sat right away and waited took our order. 1 minute later came out appetizer, then 10 mins later came out our food. The dinner was delicious, not one complaint at all. We will definitely be going back more often.

The stir fry lamb was amazing. The fried rice was also very good. I highly recommend the beef pan cake. The dry woke beef has a very unique and delicious taste. The only problem was I ate too much because it was all soooo good.

I'm not sure where to begin. This place is legit! The service is exceptional, Carly was a wonderful waitress and was very informational about the menu items and the different flavor profiles of each dish. The food was amazing! Very flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I highly recommend the Underbelly Pork, it's awesome! The spicy Fried rice is also very tasty and full of different meats to complete the dish. The best thing about all the dishes we tried, is that nothing was greasy, all the flavorful is extracted from the proteins and spices, and not just oils.

This place is incredibly tasty. The wait staff are friendly and energetic and happy to help you with the menu. The food is an explosion of flavor and umami! I recommend The Don, and the crispy wok fried green beans. Their Taro Milk Tea is also a great takeaway dessert.

Went to check it out due to the good reviews. The food did not disappoint, damn good grub. 👍Hopefully they will someday open a bigger, stand-alone location. Only gave 4 stars because the dining room could use some cosmetic corrections, starting with theBLACK walls.

Amazing experience. True flavors of the region. Do not pass this place up. This is a true dining experience at its best. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. It gets crowded early so be prepared to make reservations or wait. The pork belly is the top dish you need to try

Ahh, was excited but got a bit disappointed. Based on the reviews we came to celebrate my husband’s birthday, but after trying here, we both feel like other Chinese buffet restaurants is much more comfortable, better tastes and much less expensive. I don’t know, it’s just doesn’t fit us

Fantastic! We looked up searching for a great Chinese restaurant and found this place with good reviews. We ordered alot and ended up with 1 big take home box. Aside from the pictures, we had water, milk tea coffee and rice, but let the photos do the talking and come find out for yourself how authentic, great tasting this place is. HAPPY CHINESE NEWYEAR!

I can't even explain how amazing the food at this place is and how much I can't wait to go back. I went with friends and we ordered a little of everything and the plates are easily sharable. We had fried dumplings, pork belly, low mein, calamari, and sesame chicken. I loved the pork belly and I think on the menu its called the don. Sounds gross but so amazing. 10 out of 10.

Hot dang! This place was great! The pork belly really nailed this for me, but even the Mongolian chicken and the green beans were wonderful. Oh, and the egg rolls with chili oil hit the spot! Plus, the staff were super friendly and patient with us despite literally table being full. The portions weren't as big as other family style restaurants, but I think that's how they maintain such high quality and have no complaints. The food came out incredibly fast and I could see you bringing a group of friends to eat here. Overall, my only complaint is that I live too far away to eat here regularly. 5/7 stars, perfect score, would eat again.

Really good Chinese food. We ordered at least 5 dishes "family style" and everything was so delicious! It's a BYOB place, so consider that if you or your party plans to have adult beverages with your dinner.

I thought I would enjoy this restaurant more based on the reviews. The food was only okay. I felt many of the dishes we ordered were over salted. And it may be my inexperience with Sichuan food, but I didn't think any of the 5 dishes we ordered were very tasty or impressive. We tried the pork belly, combo hot pot, green beans, crispy and spicy chicken, and orange chicken. The service was only okay as well, it took way to long to get our check.

Signature items are the most popular. spice level 2 is very delicious and just the right level of super hot but wont burn your tongue off. they had bigger tables so you can bring a group. restaurant and restroom clean. well decorated. I'd like to see this place grow!

Questions & Answers

Yes in fact I think I saw on menu that it's a BYOB establishment but there is a small fee for bringing in your own alcohol

They dont offer vegetable dumplings now. But you can call ahead and ask if they're willing to make you some.

Not sure what hours you're looking at, but they do close for a while after lunch. They close at 2:30 and open again at three every day except Sunday when they close from 3 to 3:30.

Maybe just the fried ones. Dim sum is mainly Cantonese. You want to try the numbing hot pot and the crispy chicken. Dry pot is kinda meh.
